Synopsis
Juxtaposing everyday scenes in Yangon with extracts from a friend‘s poems and his own ruminations, the filmmaker ponders the state of his native Myanmar and its people as they move towards democracy.
Director's Biography
Burmese filmmaker Kyaw Myo Lwin joined the Yangon Film School (YFS) in 2007 where he has since worked as sound recordist and/or editor on several YFS productions including a film about trauma healing in the Delta after Cyclone Nargis called Hidden Wounds. He recently edited the short documentary Insein Rhythm. The film premiered at Visions du réel International Documentary Film Festival in Nyon in April 2013. His directorial debut Tyres had it‘s internatinal premiere at IDFA in the Netherlands. Silent Talker marks his second film.
